Presidential Message 2024/25
Dear supporters, friends, and family of WARMTH
I am very thankful for all the support that I have received from the WARMTH members, Executive and Governing Boards (EB & GB) during my Presidency. For me, the years 2024 and 2025 have been a real success story for the World Association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (WARMTH).
Presidential Message 2025
Dear supporters and friends of WARMTH
Happy New Year to the WARMTH community and our friends
2024 has been a real success story for the World Association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (WARMTH). The first highlight was the publication of the third WARMTH trial, which described targeted alpha therapy using Ac-225-PSMA-617 in Lancet Oncology in February. In this retrospective WARMTHAct study with 488 patients from four continents, Sathekge et al. report excellent outcomes; more than half of the advanced-stage patients responded, limited adverse effects were observed, and multiple factors affecting response could be identified. Additionally, I was requested to provide a commentary for The Lancet Oncology. WARMTH has conducted three major global trials, all published in high-ranked journals. The first two were retrospective trials using Lu-177-PSMA-617 (the same compound as Pluvicto®), both published in the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. In these studies, more than 400 patients were treated, and factors predicting outcomes and results could be validated before official registration trials using real-world evidence data were performed.
The WARMTH ACT study, performed under the auspices of WARMTH, aimed to report the safety and antitumour activity of 225Ac-PSMA RLT in patients with mCRPC who were treated in different centres across the world.
Study design and participants
This is a WARMTH-initiated multicentre retrospective study of patients with histologically diagnosed adenocarcinoma of the prostate gland who were treated with 225Ac-PSMA RLT for mCRPC at seven centres in Australia, India, Germany, and South Africa. Inclusion criteria were a diagnosis of mCRPC, PSMA-avidity in mCRPC lesions demonstrated on PET or single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) imaging, treatment with at least one cycle of 225Ac-PSMA RLT, and the availability of post-treatment follow-up data including PSA for PSA response assessment.

WARMTH is grateful to our past president, Prof Mike M Sathekge MD, for his work as lead author on this study.
Presidential Message 2024
Dear supporters and friends of WARMTH
As the new President of WARMTH, I am excited to serve the WARMTH community. I feel very humble: I could not believe this honor ever to happen, even when I was asked by two former WARMTH presidents in autumn 2021 in Tallinn, Estonia. They encouraged me to run for president-elect during our Past president (Mike Sathekge's term). That Symposium was held during the SARS-CoV-2 period, and international live conferences were just a dream.
Presidential Message
Before commenting on my last Presidential Message, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the WARMTH community, who have allowed us to serve as one of the most important organizations in nuclear medicine. This is because WARMTH is the only worldwide organization founded to promote radionuclide molecular therapy and the relatively novel paradigm of ‘Theragnostics.’
I thank the organization’s leadership (Governing Body and Executive Body) for defining responsive strategies that align with the WARMTHLY principles of caring for our patients and members.
Dear friends of WARMTH,
As my first letter as the President of WARMTH, I would like to thank the WARMTH community for this honour and privilege; I am truly humbled. I cherish this trust, and I acknowledge my need for your help to pursue excellence in using targeted radiopharmaceuticals in imaging and therapy.
Dear friends of WARMTH,
It is time to say good-bye to a difficult year going by and we all sincerely hope that the coming year brings to us a safe world to live and work in with our families and friends.
The year 2020 saw us going through difficult times and we all tried to find solutions in different unique ways to survive and keep us healthy and safe from the ongoing pandemic which we guess is the worst ever year as experienced by any of us in our lifetime. Thankfully things appear to be under control in most of the countries and all of us are gradually limping back towards normalcy. The current news of the mutated new deadly strain of the COVID 19 has dampened our year-end spirits a bit but let us hope it is like a passing dark piece of cloud that should go away soon. Once again heartfelt condolences on behalf of WARMTH for those WARMTH members who have passed recently.
Dear friends of WARMTH,
It is time to say goodbye to another difficult year gone by and we all sincerely hope that the coming years bring a safe world to live and work in with our families and friends.

The year 2021 still saw us going through difficult times and we all tried to find solutions in different unique ways to survive and keep us healthy and safe from the ongoing pandemic. These, we guess, were the worst ever years as experienced by any of us in our lifetime. Thankfully things appeared to be under control in most of the countries this year and all of us were gradually limping back towards normalcy until the current news of the mutated another new deadly strain of the COVID 19 dampened our year-end spirits a bit but let us hope it is like a passing dark piece of cloud which also should go away soon. The current vaccination drive all over the world also hopes to get things back on track sooner.
The world is going through difficult times and we are all trying to find solutions in different unique ways to keep us and our families safe. “Break the chain” has been a common slogan for all the countries which we can achieve by physical distancing and therefore most of the countries are in complete lockdown. I believe at this point in time we are gradually moving towards the peak of the corona crisis and thinking about the post-pandemic life expected in the next few months.
Dear Friends and Members of WARMTH,
The year 2019 is rolling on and we are looking forward to meeting many of you soon again at our ICRT-2019 to be held in Nanjing, China. We are fortunate to be part of an exciting team and to continue our service to WARMTH as President and President-Elect.
Dear Friends and Members of WARMTH,
Dear Friends and Members of WARMTH,
Dear Friends and Members of WARMTH,
Dear Friends and Members of WARMTH,
As 2017 has started rolling on, I am looking forward to continue serving WARMTH as its President for this second year. I must again repeat what I had said in my earlier initial letters when I took my office that I greatly appreciate my predecessors (Richard Baum, the Late Ajit Padhy, and Harvey Turner) who had provided excellent examples of leadership of WARMTH. I am fortunate to have been a part of such exciting teams, working with exceptional people instrumental in directing WARMTH, and thus my goal would be to keep maintaining our phenomenal success, within the term of my Presidency.

The 11th International Conference of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (ICRT) was held in Kochi, Kerala, India, November 13–17, and was organized under the umbrella of the World Association of Radiopharmaceutical and Molecular Therapy (WARMTH) and in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency. The meeting included presentations on various applications of radionuclides for therapy of cancer and other diseases.
